The Sony A7III is powered by a 24.2MP Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor, which is supported by a BIONZ X image processor that gives you precise, noise-free cinematography. An additional layer of copper cables increases the data transfer rate and gives you a 14-bit natural image. With an ISO range of 100-51200 that can go up to 50-204800, the camera can handle all kinds of lighting conditions. The camera is powerful enough to give you continuous shooting at 10 fps for 177 frames.

The A7III has a new 4D focusing system with a total of 693 phase detection points spread over approximately 93% of the image area and 425 contrast detection points. This allows the camera to auto-focus instantly. Another change is the new Fast Hybrid AF, which doubles the focus speed, allowing you to focus even in low light. The A7III also has 5-axis steady-state image stabilization that allows for smooth, almost gimbal-like video recording.

The Sony A7III is also a champion in video recording. The camera can record 4K UHD at 30 fps thanks to 2.4x upsampling, giving you more detail than most 4K cameras. In addition, you can also record slow-motion FHD 1080p video at a smooth 120 fps. You can also opt for 4x or 5x slow motion playback at 24 and 30 frames per second if you so desire. Both resolutions use the XAVC S 100 Mb/s format and a 4:2:0 sampling rate. You can also record uncompressed 4K video with 4:2:2 bit sampling, although this will require an external recorder.

The A7III also features an XGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF with a resolution of 2.36m dots for a crystal-clear viewing experience. The back of the camera features a 3.0″ LCD with 922,000 dots and a built-in touch panel that allows you to adjust settings on the go or view your own content. You can also touch focus, which makes it easy to focus on the go. The A7III's body is made of magnesium alloy and is fully weatherproof, allowing you to continue working even when the weather is not suitable.

The new version of the 24.2-megapixel Exmor R™ CMOS sensor, now with a back-illuminated structure, is combined with the latest BIONZ X™ image processor and front-end LSI, and this combination achieves a data reading speed that is twice as fast and the data processing capability is 1.8 times higher.

With Touch Focus, you can instantly focus on a point you touch on the screen. Tilt the screen up to 107° and down to 41° for the flexible and comfortable camera holding and tracking.

The standard ISO range is extended to ISO 100-51200 (expandable to ISO 50-204800 for stills), while Detail Reproduction and Area Noise Reduction technologies preserve image detail and reduce noise. With highly efficient performance in the medium to high sensitivity ranges, you can shoot at high ISO without worry.

Approx. A dynamic range of 15 EV at low sensitivity settings is achieved thanks to a redesigned CMOS sensor and image processor that ensures a smooth gradation from shadow to highlight. This gives you more freedom of creative display.

The AF performance inherited from the α9 accounts for AF tracking with increased accuracy for continuous shooting of fast action. Thanks to the faster reading of the image sensor, even the complex movement of the subject can be tracked and sudden movements can be predicted with great accuracy, allowing you to capture the decisive moments.
