It's been 12 months since I decided to pre-order my Canon m50 Mark ii. I really liked this camera at first, but now I LOVE it and I want to tell you why. If you are looking for a new camera for YouTube videos, this is for you! Here is my honest review and why this might be the perfect camera for you.

First, let's start with size and weight. The Canon m50 Mark ii is small and light, making it easy to carry around or slip into a bag. This mirrorless also has all the expected features for today's camera. You have manual shooting settings, face detection,, and a fully movable touch screen! One of the best parts is that the touchscreen has a record button right on it. And thanks to the sound levels on the screen, you also always know if your microphone is working properly! Both the 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 8 image processor are used to ensure high sensitivity and fast camera performance that suits both photo and video applications. A flexible ISO range of 100-25600 with an expandable ISO 51200 setting suits working in a variety of lighting conditions, and processing options minimize noise and enable automatic lighting optimization for remarkable clarity in a variety of shooting situations. UHD 4K video recording at 23.98 fps is also supported, along with Full HD 1080p60 and HD 720p120 settings for slow motion recording. Vertical video recording and clean HDMI output for high definition and high frame rate streaming are also supported. In addition, the processor enables continuous shooting at a speed of 10 frames per second, fast camera start-up and short intervals between each frame for a more intuitive and efficient shooting process.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF offers smooth and fast focusing, similar to how a video camera focuses. This system integrates two separate photodiodes in each pixel to provide a wide and dense network of phase-detection collection elements across the majority of the image sensor to reduce focus seeking for faster and more direct control of focus placement. When working with still images, this focusing system works to focus quickly and accurately, making it ideal for shooting and tracking moving subjects, ensuring critical focus is achieved with every shot. Eye-detection AF can also be used for portraiture, helping to prioritize focus on the subject's eye to ensure sharpness.

When shooting video, Movie Servo AF mode offers smooth and natural focusing when changing from different subjects or different distances within a scene, as well as the ability to specify tracking sensitivity, AF speed and face tracking priority. Thanks to the Touch AF system, focusing in the rack is possible by simply touching elements in the scene on the touch screen to change the focus in an intuitive way. Subject tracking in movies is also enhanced thanks to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system's ability to recognize subjects and maintain focus when working in changing or confusing scenery. Additionally, Eye Detection AF can also be used with Movie Servo AF, and both Eye and Face Detection can be used with Servo AF modes to help keep your subjects in focus as the center of attention.

Canon is currently one of the leading manufacturers of digital SLR cameras on the planet. And with their new Canon EOS M50, they show no signs of slowing down. The new EOS M50 is a marvel of photographic technology in terms of digital SLR perfection. With a total of 25.80 megapixels, the results on this camera are clean and excellent. The maximum resolution this camera offers is 4000 x 6000 with the built-in CMOS sensor offering a sensor resolution of 6012 x 4008. Shutter speeds also vary widely to optimize the user experience according to their needs. With a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000s and a minimum speed of 30s, you're sure to get that perfect shot you've been wanting for so long. The camera is also very practical in the storage and connectivity department. The EOS M50 supports SD/SDHC/SDXC, USB 2.0 (480 Mbit/s), HDMI and even wireless options. All these options combined with many other technical improvements make it one of the best DSLRs the market has to offer.

The EOS M50 Mark II is designed like a mini-DSLR, and despite its small size, the grip is substantial and comfortable. The camera controls are almost identical to its predecessor. The control wheel, shutter button, record button and M-Fn can be found on the upper right side of the camera body.

The rest of the camera controls run along the right rear. They're rather small and crammed together, and in many cases it's simply easier to use the touchscreen to change settings; this is especially true for the small video recording button that sits flush with the camera body. Recording video is much easier via the camera's touch screen. The menu is easy to navigate and follows the standard layout found on other Canon EOS cameras.

The M50 Mark II has a built-in eTTL pop-up flash that's decent for fill-in use, while the hot shoe allows you to attach a more powerful external flash. The camera has a 3.5mm microphone jack, micro-HDMI and USB Micro-B slots running down the side. Unfortunately, there's no headphone jack to monitor audio levels while recording video, but that's pretty standard for cameras in this class.

Even though the M50 Mark II is incredibly light and compact, it's still very comfortable to shoot with thanks to this distinctive grip. It's CIPA-rated to take 305 shots per charge, and if you're only shooting stills, we found its battery life to be solid for a day or more of photo-focused activities. However, if you plan on shooting a lot of video, you'll want to bring a spare battery as it drains quickly. Also note that USB charging is not supported (don't lose this charger!).
